Access to support and intervention for all people in times of crisis is proven to saves lives.

People in Aotearoa, New Zealand have responded to the extensive impact on families, whānau and community, with 64% noting the national suicide rate as a concern. This calls for a shift from suicide awareness to suicide prevention awareness.

Below are a list of support numbers that you can call any hour of any day 

 

Māori suicide rates are high in Aotearoa. Te Puni Kōkiri is working with other government agencies, expert groups and community organisations to reduce Māori suicide.

Around 4,200 rangatahi / young people across Aotearoa are impacted by cancer each year, whether it’s their own diagnosis, or that of an immediate family member. CanTeen’s mission is to make sure they don’t have to face cancer alone.
