Te Manaaki Taiao (TMT), Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is a Māori community 
development unit whose directive is to advocate for and support Heretaunga marae
hapū hapori capability-building, knowledge development, and cultural survival. 
It requires timely outreach, reciprocity and communications between mana 
whenua and TMT. The kaupapa-based Te Rūnunganui o Heretaunga collective and 
marae hapū wānanga/workshop delivery are key avenues for achieving our mahi.
The maraewaakainga.com hub website with rohe, marae, and hapū pages is a 
communications tool that has one key kaupapa: providing connectivity of ngā uri o 
Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga, including the modern diaspora of whanau around 
the globe, to their marae, hapū and hapori.
