WHO ARE WE?
Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust is the Post Settlement Governance Entity for Heretaunga Tamatea established to receive the redress negotiated by He Toa Takitini in settlement of the historical Treaty grievances of Heretaunga Tamatea against the Crown. Established in 2016, Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust are a hapū based settlement where each hapū are mana whenua within their respective takiwā. Te Rohe o Heretaunga Tamatea is considered the richest and most fertile soil in all of Aotearoa where the traditional rohe comprises of 1.475 million acres spread amongst lofty mountain ranges, deep construing valleys and large vast alluvial plains with five main river systems fuelled by the Heretaunga and Ruataniwha aquifers.
WE ARE SEEKING A NEW CEO
To continue with the great work of the outgoing Primary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and to build on our strengths, Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust is seeking a new CEO that will provide a blend of thought-provoking leadership, vision, strategic insight, and commercial acumen, as well as ‘hands on’ management to further develop Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust as a key player in the Heretaunga Tamatea region.
WHAT WILL THE CEO DO?
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will be accountable for effectively leading and managing the Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust operations and activities ensuring that the outcomes of the strategic directions are met. This includes a high level of cultural awareness and affinity to the values of Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust and the ability to reflect the voice and kaupapa of marae and hapū. The CEO is expected to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders for the benefit of Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust, including local and central government agencies and have a history of enhancing operational performance of a business.
THE IDEAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
To be successful, you will lead from the front by understanding the value of strong relationships, have empathy for others, a strong customer service approach and the capacity to make things happen. You will have a track record of developing successful teams and building a strong culture through a nurturing leadership style, political savvy and strong personal values that align with Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust values. Proven experience in a senior management position that reports to a Board, with solid financial acumen and strategy development are also essential. A relevant tertiary qualification is required.
