Clinical Lead - HBRP DTP
Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is seeking a Clinical Lead at our Hawkes Bay Regional Prison Drug Treatment Programme. One of two Clinical Leads, this role reports to the Clinical Manager and supports a talented team deliver the programme, helping men to gain the skills and knowledge they need for positive changes in their lives.
As part of the Clinical Lead role, you will continue to deliver services as an Addictions Practitioner and have additional duties consisting of:
• Taking a lead role in and maintaining the integrity of the programme
• Carry a caseload when required
• Keeping staff accountable for their record keeping and reporting obligations
• Providing clinical support and coaching of team members
• Communicating and liaising with the Custodial team
• Contribute as part of the HBRP services TToH management team
• Delegating for the DTP Clinical Manager when required
The successful applicant would have:
• Experience in individual and group dynamics
• A relevant tertiary education in psychology, addictions, mental health, social work, nursing, counselling or education
• The desire and ability to move into a leadership role as part of a management pathway
We are seeking people who:
• Have good engagement and relationship building skills
• Can prioritise and delegate effectively
• Have accuracy and attention to detail
• Have experience in delivering therapeutic interventions for individuals or groups
• The ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities
• Have knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, Māori culture, protocols and peoples and apply kaupapa Māori practices in your work
• Are comfortable giving and receiving feedback
• Have experience with report writing and professional meeting facilitation
You would be part of a large and supportive team working with our Ara Poutama (Dept. of Corrections) partners, delivering a therapeutic programme and providing Aftercare services to Tane who have successfully completed the programme.
