1.TEAM LEADER CUSTOMER SERVICES, MTG HAWKE’S BAY
Permanent position working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday
MTG Hawke’s Bay is at home in the heart of Napier forming the cultural centre of this stylish city for over 150 years. MTG Hawke’s Bay is a place where people, objects and ideas meet.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Team Leader to join our Visitor Engagement team. You will be instrumental in maintaining our excellent reputation on the front line whilst leading a team of 4 staff members and up to 10 casuals.
This is a busy role and requires someone with the ability to think on their feet and multi task, ensuring the customer is always at the forefront.
The right person will have experience in leading a successful team in a customer services environment together with hands on customer service experience. You will be in charge of the retail space, so you will need buying experience or at least the confidence to give it a go. Experience with coordinating events, both large and small would be helpful. You will also be required to help with Public Programming, both initiating and delivering programmes.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
• Experience in providing leadership, clear direction and support to all staff in the customer services environment
• A highly responsive and consistent approach to delivery of services
• Team leadership experience, ensuring the ongoing development of a high performing and competent team
• Experience in rostering and people management.
• Event management or coordination
• Proven stakeholder / relationship management skills

2. Community Programme and Events
MTG Hawke’s Bay is an award-winning museum, home of the region’s taonga and other treasures.
We showcase exhibitions of art, culture and social history, offer educational programmes to students
of all ages and our Century Theatre features film, live theatre, concerts and more.
Here at MTG Hawke’s Bay, we are immensely proud of what we do, and we are currently looking for
a like-minded passionate person with exceptional event management experience to join our team to
develop programmes to enhance support of our exhibition schedule, key community milestones and
other MTG events. We need a creative, enthusiastic events superstar who is every bit a people
person.

Key tasks:
 Plan, develop and deliver MTG public programmes with support from the team
 Manage the delivery of all events to a high standard
 Actively promote and sell MTG as a venue for events in the marketplace
 Deliver key events throughout the year, eg film festival
 To ensure effective monitoring, analysis and regular reporting on implementation against
policies, plans and SOPs
Key requirements:
 Proven delivery of high quality and innovative public programmes and events
 Experience negotiating with and working with sponsors and clients
 Energy and enthusiasm
This is a permanent, full time role (40 hours per week). As you can imagine, events are not generally
held Monday to Friday, so some flexibility in working hours and days is required.

3. MUSEUM EDUCATOR – MTG HAWKE’S BAY
Full time permanent position working 40 hours per week (over the 52 weeks of the year)
MTG Hawke’s Bay is one of Council’s most popular visitor experiences and the cultural centre of Hawke’s
Bay. We are seeking an education professional with relevant qualifications to join our education team in
2019.
The Museum Educator is responsible for the development and delivery of education programmes focused
around the collections and exhibitions held by the museum. This roles enables you to have a positive
impact on students’ learning outcomes in an education-rich, inspiring setting.
This role is also responsible for developing and delivering programmes for other groups such as school
holiday programmes, after school programmes, tours and more throughout the entire year. This is a busy
role and requires a creative, energetic, positive person who loves to engage as an educator. Teacher
registration preferred but not essential.
About You
You are a passionate person with an innovative and collaborative approach to learning. You will also have:
 Proven experience in developing learning opportunities for students aged 5 to 18 years
 Recent experience in a teaching environment
 Detailed understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum
 Excellent understanding of Te Titiriti o Waitangi
 Enthusiasm for delivering programmes
