WAI 262 - Kia Whakapūmau Ngatai Huata - Ngati Kahungunu
As we continue our focus on our upcoming regional Kanohi ora hui, Kahungunu our next hosts are well known for their manaakitanga and their prowess in performing arts and the composition of well known oriori Pinepine te Kura and waiata such as Tutira mai ngā Iwi written by Canon Wi Te Tau Huata.
His daughter Ngatai Huata who is also an accomplished composer and performer is a member of the Wai262 Taumata Whakapūmau. Ngatai shares her thoughts about why she believes Wai262 is the "mother of all claims" and why it is important for composers like her Father and other Māori artists.
