Communications Response to Covid - What you need to know today
Go to the Te Puni Kōkiri web portal for more info about what is happening around the motu and the support available during COVID-19.
COVID-19 cases are trending downwards and we want to mihi the hard working kaimahi and volunteers providing social and health services, and our essential and frontline workers.
Our restrictions and tikanga hauora are working whānau, but do your bit by getting vaccinated, wearing a mask, scanning and getting tested if sick.
Aotearoa has plenty of vaccine and will get another additional 250,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine from Spain. These will arrive in Tāmaki Makaurau āpōpō.
About 1 in 5 Māori are currently vaccinated and we need to protect our pēpi and whānau. At Whānau ora agencies you can walk in without booking.
The Government has reprioritised up to $5 million to provide immediate relief to vulnerable whānau Māori and communities during the current COVID-19 outbreak focussing on Tāmaki Makaurau, Te Tai Tokerau and Northern Waikato.
South Waikato will be vaccinating the community from next week. Bookings can be made on www.bookmyvaccine.nz or through the national booking line on 0800 28 29 26.
COVID-19 Statistics and Facts as at 2 p.m. 9 Mahuru 2021
There are 13 new cases of COVID-19 in the community in Tāmaki Makaurau. While daily new cases are dropping, five patients are in ICU with three needing ventilation. This is a serious outbreak so keep safe whānau and get tested if you have flu symptoms or have been near a location of interest.
Vaccinations are open to all whānau 12 years and over, and they’re free. Encourage your whānau and rangatahi to get vaccinated.
More than 250,521 Māori have had their first vaccination and 122,266 their second. Be a doer and protect your whānau! Visit the Karawhiua website.
